I absolutely loved this book. I reluctantly purchased it after watching Notorious. Very few books hold my attention to the point where I can read them in a week let alone two days. I found her story gripping and more relatable than I care to admit. It transported me and made me remember so many things from my younger days. The transformation of hip hop and when some of my favorite artists hit the scene. She was honest and real. She had the courage to reveal her deepest flaws and truths. As far as Tupac goes Im not mad at her...or him. He who has not sinned cast the first stone. She reminds us that there is beauty even in our imperfections and I hope she continues to share her God given gift with the world. This is the first review Ive written on my Kindle so please excuse my punctuation. Still cant find the comma.

Cheap Milk Teeth: A Memoir of a Woman and Her Dog Discount Review Shop

Robbie Kahn's first book, "Bearing Meaning" proved to be an important contribution to feminist-American-sociological literature even if a person's child-bearing years were far behind, or one were not a sociologist, or even a feminist. Just so, her new book, "Milk Teeth" should not be taken up only by dog owners, or for that matter, only by dog lovers (although a reader will certainly emerge with a new respect and appreciation for all of us animals).
Just as she did with "Bearing Meaning," Pfeufer Kahn seamlessly weaves personal narrative with ecofeminism, history, sociology, literature, philosophy, religion, spirituality, botany, biology, etc. and all of it so gently and sensually, that we don't realize how profoundly we are being educated. With a deeply literary voice, she both eschews and combines traditional academic separations, and with remarkable courage, breaks new ground in more than one discipline. It is one of those books that makes a reader feel sad as she approaches the last pages.

Cheap The Great O'Neill: A Biography of Hugh O'Neill, Earl of Tyrone, 1550-1616 Discount Review Shop

This is a profound book full of fascinating historical data on one of the most complex characters of ancient Irish history. Much of what the author writes is of necessity speculation but he also has researched into the history of the O'Neills & the old gaelic Chieftain order. The result is a facinating drama from the pages of ancient Irish history presented in a most dramatic & colourful manner. Personally I believe here is a story that could transfer the world of cinema & rival & surpass Braveheart in its epic scale & mesmerising characters. There is firstly the young O'Neill born into the most eminent of all Irish families, suddenly orphaned & at risk from his own people. Forced to flee he is taken in by the English & raised to be their pawn. In time he grows to manhood, returns to his people & claims all that is his. At first he has the support of the English as they pit Irish against Irish but eventually he outgrows them & becomes instead the most dangerous foe the Elizabethan armies have ever encountered. He scores victory after vistory over the English, culminating with his destruction of their great army at The Battle of the Yellow Ford. Unfortunately for O'Neill English resources far outweigh his as he well knows & a single defeat will spell his ruin. This comes inevitably at the battle of Kinsale & then all are left to mourn not just the passing of the Ancient Gael & its great Lords but the entrenchment of the English in Ireland which resulted in such pleasures as the Penal Times, 1798, The Great Famine, the War of Independence & today's Troubles in Northern Ireland. All can be traced back to that single defeat at Kinsale. I rate this book as by far the most significant work that O'Faolain ever wrote & believe it should be compulsory for all Irish History students. One curious aside is the comparison between this period of Irish history & the Indian wars in the USA. Certain characters have an uncanny resemblance, Sitting Bull & Hugh O'Neill; Crazy Horse & Hugh O'Donnell; Mountjoy & Sherman(?). Also the desperate struggle to maintain an ancient way of life & the realisation on the part of the indigenous peoples that theirs was a hopeless battle & that eventually a single defeat would bring their end. Yet these people believed strongly enough in their culture to fight for it & as an Irishman I am proud that O'Neill & O'Donnell fought their great foes rather than going quietly into the night. A great book.

But the way things are now it seems like the armed forces of the world are entering the space, and want to use its technology to fight Their enemies. The Future of Space Wars will soon be upon us. Every day since the war in Iraq began, Americans are better than what the media is allowed to share statistics on the causes, costs, projects and results of hope. But do we really know what's going to, we understand what war? Chuck Bravedy share his view point A veteran of view in "Iraq in My Eye: Memoirs of a Navy SEAL."

Who knows better what is war, as someone who deeply into the thick of it? To understand thismilitary action, could sit back and let the media tell you what to believe, or you can look at the personal experience of a man instead. Bravedy begins the book with its descriptions of Navy SEAL training and what it takes to make it through this endurance test of the highest form. SEALs get respect, no doubt. And then starts his mission in Iraq. Hungry for the World: A Memoir for $5.66

I immediately ordered this book after I finished Barnes' first memoir. Imagine my dismay when it appeared that the first 70+ pages were a recap of what I'd just read? When I read closely, I did discover that additional information was included in the first section, especially concerning her teen years. So, all is forgiven!

That gripe aside, Barnes' tells an even more painful story in this book than in her first. She does a convincing job of drawing parallels between the male domination of her early life in the church and her later life as a cherished, debased object used at the pleasure of an older man. She isn't preachy, either. She assumes the reader's intelligence will draw the lines from one set of requirements for female behavior to the other set of requirements. I appreciated that.

Whether trying to please church elders or a sadistic trucker, Barnes is compliant, tireless, self-abnegating and completely, totally, tragically lost. Except...she isn't. She retains, somewhere deep in her core, a sense of the right to exist, to express, to grow. She survives. It's one harrowing tale, even with the care Barnes takes in relating some of the more sensational aspects.

Psychic Junkie: A Memoir for $4.99

Cheap Psychic Junkie: A Memoir Discount Review Shop

Thank you Sarah for your honest account of life in psychic bondage. There really are only a handful of true ethical psychics in the world but the ones encountered in this memoir were not them. People often go to a psychic in desperation and probably on some level, wanting to have assurance or control over the outcomes of events. Sarah was seeking psychic solace because she wanted to have hope in her life. The sad fact is, no psychic is 100%, and sadly most who claim to be psychic are not. They are people with intuition and empathic ability instead of a true psychic. A true psychic does not collude with you. They will tell you what you don't want to hear because their ethics will keep you in reality. A true psychic will guide you with instructions that can energetically support you towards manifesting your heart's desires. They won't be the work for you nor can their words magically cause it into being. And most of all, you have a choice whether to believe or trust it and keep your head in check. The true litmus test of any psychic is time. Over time, predictions that comes true in their essence (forget the form), are the hallmark of a real psychic. Even the best psychics cannot be 100% accurate on the timing and how an exact reality will unfold. It is best that when you find the one person whom you trust, and has proven their skills, stick only to them and don't have readings more than once in 18 to 22 months. Anything more is an addiction to readings.

In Sarah's case, she was giving her power over to what really were sidewalk intuitive and empathic con artists at best. These people were able to tune into what her emotions wanted rather than real precognition. They told her what she wanted to hear because they picked up on her dreams rather than future probabilities. Sarah was in the equivalent of a spiritual bondage and lost faith in herself in the process. The good thing is that she came to her senses and stopped. This is something to read before you see a reader. And remember ... if what they say doesn't feel right ... it probably is wrong. But really, don't get too attached to their words, just keep note of them and then allow events to unfolds while doing your part instead of wishful thinking. Sarah has done consumers a world of service with this book.

The Korean war has interested me since I spent some weeks in South Korea during the 'Pueblo Crisis', when North Korea captured a US Navy spy ship in its territorial waters. The response of South Koreans was an outpouring of enormous pride at the accomplishment--and of memories about the Korean War, whose scars were still visible.
The memories of the South Korean people to whom I spoke supported Burchett's account of the war: namely that we were the aggressors throughout, that we treated the Korean people (South and North) brutally, and that the Northerners are heroes to the Southerners for their principled resistance to invasion and occupation by a foreign power.
Burchett has written one of the few eye-witness accounts of the Korean and Vietnamese conflicts from the 'other' side.
With reunification of the two parts of Korea now under way, we can expect to hear more about that other side in years to come. In the meantime, Burchett's book is a useful antidote to the usual propaganda.
